2010 New Maggie Classes - pre-requisite is "On No, Not Another Scarf" class

You will learn Maggie’s signature stitches – rag knots, tubes, splits, and the ladder stitch – to create a sampler piece that can be turned into a scarf, purse, or table runner. This project will be your special design, developed with the guidance of Maggi and inspired by her unique ideas. Plus you will learn the additional finishing techniques necessary to make your project a resounding success. Bring your size 5mm/ 8USA needles, preferably plastic, wooden or bamboo straight needles. $95 class fee includes yarn and snack.

Fashion Show: Friday, Nov. 12, 6pm-8pm $10, $5 if taking a class

2010 New Class #1 To be, or not to be . . . a Button!! (22 designs with buttons, some we will do as projects, and some will be shown in photographs covering clothing and interiors)

Recycle old buttons from shirts, jackets, whatever in a creative way. Some will be used with a buttonhole others not. We will work in squares, rectangles, triangles but in a simple designer influenced way. It is about being creative incorporating buttons with your knitting but not just simply sewing on here and there . . . think outside the box . . . or rather button!! Ideas are to be continued and worked on old or new projects. Materials fee $20, includes buttons. (For a complete project). Class 5-6 hrs. Needles 5mm/8USA, (preferably plastic, wooden or bamboo), scissors, sewing and darning needles. Class fee is $95 and includes materials and lunch.
Saturday, November 13th, 9am – 4pm

2010 New Class #2 Looping, Ruching, Pleating and Weaving in the Maggie Jackson Way (Stitches to be used in interior pieces or clothing)

Worked in squares/rectangles, though these will be reshaped with the stitches we will cover along with design ideas to pursue in other projects. The ideas can be used on purses, cuffs, shawls giving a new look. Mix heavy yarns with light yarns, textures, knitting with sewing elastic, holes with color below. Think outside the box in the Maggie way. Ideas are to be continued and worked on old or new projects. Bring needles 5mm/8USA, (preferably plastic, wooden or bamboo), scissors, and darning needles. Class fee is $95 and includes class materials and lunch.
Sunday, November 14th, 9am-4pm

If you take 2 classes, save $10 – 2 for $180

LOCK INS

Lock-Ins are back by popular demand. Need a night out from our family and want a few hours of uninterrupted knitting, stitching time and spicy conversation? This is the night for you! Make sure to sign up as there is a 15 person limit. Cost is free! Beverages are provided. Bring a snack to pass if you would like. Chocolate is always welcomed! It's a good time to show off your gourmet talents too! They will be the first Friday of most months, and dates will be announced. Call the shop for more information.
